Scott Silbert grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and St. Simons Island, Georgia, before moving to Atlanta to attend Emory University. While in college, he worked for three years in the operant behavior laboratory of the Department of Psychology before achieving a degree in psychology with honors. Scott then moved to New Orleans to attend law school at Tulane. As a law student, he received honors in Admiralty-Personal Injury and in Federal Jurisdiction. After working for three prestigious firms, Scott started his own firm in 1985. That firm was merged with Justin “Bobby” Garon’s firm in 1995. Silbert & Garon expanded into Gulfport, Mississippi in 1999, where David Pitre is our resident partner. Scott and the firm represent innocent accident victims and their families throughout the Gulf-South region of the United States. Scott is a past Chair of the Maritime Section of the Louisiana Association for Justice (LAJ).  He is widely respected for his knowledge in the field of maritime law, auto and trucking collisions, insurance law matters, and serious personal injury and death. He has been sought after as referral counsel on these matters by lawyers across the Southeastern United States (and beyond). As an avid bicyclist, Scott is a member of New Orleans Bicycle Club and actively trains with several racing groups.  He has a keen interest in securing justice for cyclists who have been wrongfully injured.  Scott is a frequent lecturer and has given presentations to the New Orleans Bar Association, North Florida Bar Association and the Louisiana Association for Justice. Scott is married to Julie Parelman Silbert, who is also a practicing attorney. They have two children.  Scott is actively involved in fund raising on behalf of numerous charitable organizations and he serves on several charitable and civic boards.
