David Pitre is a board-certified civil trial specialist from the National Board of Trial Advocacy (the NBTA was established in 1977 and was the first of its kind to be accredited by the American Bar Association). He was originally certified in 2012 and met the stringent qualifications for recertification in 2017, and once again in 2022. Only a handful of lawyers in Mississippi have earned this specialist certification which requires extensive civil jury trial experience and rigorous objective quality standards, including a four-hour written examination. Certification is also dependent upon peer-review recommendations by opposing counsel and by trial court judges who have presided over an applicant’s trials.
